Tatworth Primary School Showbuild
The Summer Showbuild will give young people the chance to be involved in creative arts workshops including theatre, music, design and dance leading to a performance of an original piece of musical theatre. In just five days young people, in collaboration with Actiontrack’s professional artists will create story, characters, music, song, dance and set, performing the new piece on the evening of Friday 30th July 2010 at Tatworth Primary School, Tatworth.
Following successful funding applications to South Somerset District Council and Give It A Go, an access fund for Out of School Hours Learning funded through Somerset County Council, Actiontrack are pleased to be able to offer free places for their Summer Showbuild, taking place at Tatworth Primary School this July.
‘Give It A Go!’ is intended to help reduce the attainment gap between children in economic disadvantage and those from more affluent backgrounds. In Somerset it does this by increasing opportunities for students on free school meals or children in care.
It is not only school-based activities that this subsidy can be used for. Sports, music or arts activities have all been attended using this funding. If an eligible child wants to do a specific activity which is offered by the community then this subsidy enables them to do that.
The week is free and open to all young people aged between 9 and 18. We are also able to offer help with transport costs. Please contact Cindy Furse at Actiontrack on 01460 240472 or by email cind.actiontrack@btconnet.com for more details. |
